The ping of the aluminum bat in MVP 06 NCAA Baseball will be accompanied by hard-rock tracks from one of the most successful independent record labels in the game, Electronic Arts said today.

The game maker inked a licensing deal with Chicago-based Victory Records to use 10 songs as the game's soundtrack, including tracks from emerging bands like Hawthorne Heights, Aiden, and Silverstein.

Hawthorne Heights is set to drop its new album, This Is Who We Are, sometime next month. The CD's title track will grace the game's soundtrack.

Gamers who buy the game through EA's prepurchase program will get a free sampler CD with more than 20 songs from Victory Records, including nearly all of the tracks featured in the game. The CDs are already available at retail outlets like EB and GameStop; the game is set for release in spring 2006.
