There's nothing like taking control of a running back, slipping a few attempted tackles by the defense, and marching onward for a huge run. On the other end of the spectrum, there's nothing like pulling off the preceding maneuver only to have the ball taken back to the spot of initial contact because of a glitch in the game.
That very bug has plagued some copies of NCAA Football 07 for the PSP, according to Electronic Arts. On the game's official Web site today, the publisher announced that it will replace copies of the game that exhibit the glitch with brand-new bug-free discs.
To get a fresh copy of NCAA Football 07, gamers should send their affected discs, along with their name, mailing address, e-mail address, and phone number, to the address below:
EA Customer Warranty
Attn: NCAA PSP
209 Redwood Shores Parkway
Redwood City, CA 94065
A replacement disc will be sent out within 10 business days. To apologize for the inconvenience, EA will also send out coupons good for $15 off gamers' next purchase at EA's online store, as well as free shipping on the order.
NCAA Football 07 for the PSP was released on July 18. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's review.
Do they sell the fixed copies of NCAA Football 07 (PSP) in stores?
Whoa thats pretty nice of them to do that....
good stuff. played my friends copy and was denied numerous first downs cause of this. glad to see that there is a solution. now if only square would replace all the purchases of dirge of cerberus with the real game. c'mon we all know square didn't release that unfinished version on pupose right? right???
lmao.... im glad i dont like sports game on handhelds
LOL EA got owned! But the coupon thing sounds sweet:D
What a mess, hopefully it'll be the last mistake from EA.
i guess it s a good thing i dont have it et
I can't believe a big company like EA would mess up like this....
It seems that everyone here is just willing to forgive EA for their blatant and cavalier attitude about this "screw up". If there wasn't such a huge public outcry EA would just ignore it and laugh at how it fleeced the public with a defective product. If we give companies that practice these methods a free pass then we are sending a message that it is alright to forego the playtesting process if the schedule is getting too tight. Too bad the PSP doesn't have a harddrive to download a patch like we are unfortunately having to get accustomed to (xbox, xbox 360) because of certain developers laziness, so I hope this recall really hits EA in the pocketbook. No other way will make them change their ways. I'm getting used to being an unwilling beta tester for Windows operating systems (thanks MS) and PC games but I'll be damned if I am going to put up with it on a closed console system where you don't have more than two variations (HDD or not) in the future. Clean it up EA. You like to parade around and act like a leader for the industry so show some leadership and prioritize quality over arbitrary deadlines. Especially with games that only seem to get a roster update over the previous years edition.
That cool that they are replacing the disk with bug free versions, the Game is good but the bug did hurt the game. Glad to see EA fixing it's mistake.
EA KNOWS HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR COSTOMERS.
"lgoldberg - Man, I wish I had an affected disc (Not that I have one at all) so that I could have Free shipping and coupons." Go buy a used one and sent that to them.
EA games are always problematic.....EA and their wannabe monopoly sux. Everyone should boycott EA games until they release their stranglehold on sports and gamers.
kinglink: psp a dying system? guess you haven't seen the sales.. lol... its amusing how ignorant some people can be
you would of thought that a bug that big would have been found, guess EA drop the ball this time (no pun inteded). With them being the biggest publisher atm that there testers would have found sumit like that o well money can't buy you brains but i wouldn't put it past Ea to try and buy that out too
Took EA long enough to figure it out, but maybe consumers will figure out that the PSP and many EA titles are poorly placed together garbage.
I love this. Oh we'll give you a new game and 15 bucks so you can spend that at our store so we can get more of your money? Why didn't they just send a second game or a coupon good at all stores? Then again in good news, not a lot of people are going to buy NCAA for the PSP since it's a dying system.
Give poor old would be tyrant EA some credit, at least they are replacing them and offering some sort added bonus as part of an apology. Bugs in games are always going to be present, some are just cosmetic or are not major enough to honestly ruin gameplay, this one hindered "progress" a good bit so it's clear to see why they'd do a recall of sorts.
ConManWithGun, EA isn't dying. And if it was. do you know what we'd lose? We'd lose the NCAA Football series, the MOH series, the C&C series, and the Battlefield series. Does anyone here really hate EA so much that they'd be willing to lose these series just to have EA gone?
yet another game ruined by the PSP
I know this doesn't have a lot to do with this, but did anyone else notice that this artice was written by one of the guys from The Last Word?
KOOL. Now what about the rest of 99999 buged games released this year by EA?
Man, I wish I had an affected disc (Not that I have one at all) so that I could have Free shipping and coupons. I'd use them to buy Medal of Honor Airborne online. Those of you who have a buggy disc, good for you!
" nintendorocks nintendorocks Nice. Bugs in a game are always bad. But EA is replacing all the PSP copies that are bugged. All you need to do is mail it back. Now, that is cool. Yet people still complain.....I can't believe the idiots... HyperMetaDragon Nice try, EA. You can't win over a gamer's vote for their favorite publisher by crapping out on games, servers, and anything related to the word "game", and then try to fix the problems with a $15 gift coupon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EA isn't just giving you a $15 gift coupon they are also giving you a bug-free version of the game. Read before you post, jerk." :) i agree with you! but sony rocks too, not just nintendo...as long as we agree that microsoft doesn't, it's then we'll get along pretty damn well :P
objective gamer is right gamespot didn't review game properly.
EA has always been on shakey ground in my eyes simply cause they hit and miss so much on markers that should be covered from the get go... all bias aside, I think its real true blue of them to be willing in working out a way for all 7 people who bought the PSP version of the game to get a new copy. One side note tho... NCAA is priced at about 40 bucks for the PSP and they hook you up with a $15 off coupon plus free shipping which is about 8 bucks max for a defect copy. Would it be too much of me to ask for a larger sum off??
Damn EA and their 'effected' discs!
How did THAT get looked over...seriously, that's not a minor issue. Least they're replacing them, but how in the world that isn't something you encounter in testing is beyond me.
BTW, Gamespot's review of NCAA 07 for the psp sucks. It hardly even mentions the bug and this bug is huge. Brian Ekbert is an idiot.
Nice work EA. I really begining to like EA since early 06.
Well, say whatever you want but this is a good and brave move, even from someone as big as EA.
"effected discs" Shouldn't that be 'affected'?
Nice. Bugs in a game are always bad. But EA is replacing all the PSP copies that are bugged. All you need to do is mail it back. Now, that is cool. i traded this game in at gamestop and i got 30 store credict points then i got madden for $10.
Nice try, EA. You can't win over a gamer's vote for their favorite publisher by crapping out on games, servers, and anything related to the word "game", and then try to fix the problems with a $15 gift coupon.
Good thing they are doing this

lol
it's good that they are doing this
Wow, EA actually HELPING the consumer? I think it's a sign of the Apocalypse!! But yeah this is good news.
Well they're nice about it and thats good...
At least EA's being nice about it
Ewww - that sucks.
EA actually actually bein responsible
nailfoot- apparently there's more to it to developers than just making games solely for PC. For if it was that simple there wouldn't be any games developed for consoles and the console market would simply disappear, now wouldn't it?
with all of the million of dollars EA has... you'd think they could hire playtesters!
First good thing ive seen out of EA in a long time ,and ive seen Madden 07
"PC games with patch opportunities are cheaper for developers! Developers should just stick to the PC then, eh? " Actually nailfoot...no...most people don't have the $1,000 a second to spend on hardware upgrades for every game that comes out so no. Plus next gen systems have HDDs so patches will be doable.
Thanks EA
Well hopefully i'll get a new one then and a 15 dollar off coupon. Its sort of inconvienent for it to happen but they seem to make up for it so its not a bad deal.
