Electronic Arts and UK-based Free Radical Design have today announced a distribution and publishing agreement for the next game in the TimeSplitters series of first-person shooters. No additional information on the game itself has been released at this time, but it is known that it will feature online play and is currently scheduled for worldwide release in 2005. Platforms for the game have not been announced, but it seems reasonable to assume that both PS2 and Xbox versions are in development, at the very least.

"Free Radical has proven itself as a world-class studio by delivering consistently beautiful, exciting, and incredibly fun games," said Frank Sagnier, vice president, Electronic Arts Partners in Europe. "We are thrilled to be working with Free Radical and to be adding a new title to our growing catalog of externally developed games."

"Choosing EA Partners as our publishing partner represents a big breakthrough for Free Radical," added Steve Ellis, chairman of Free Radical Design. "We're already working hard on the next game, and we hope that, with the help of EA Partners, we can reach many new players all over the world."

We'll bring you more information on TimeSplitters 3 (working title) as soon as it becomes available.
