Electronic Arts has announced the release of The Sims: Superstar. The expansion pack is the eighth for the best-selling series and will offer players the first chance to follow their sims to work. The three new career paths are glamorous occupations in the movie, music, and fashion industries, and the sims' success will be determined not only by your choices during the filming, recording, and modeling sessions, but also by the sims' fame. Fame is a new factor in players' success, and gaining celebrity will require some hobnobbing with established famous figures.

"One of the most requested features from our fans is the ability to follow their sims to work," said Jonathan Knight, producer at EA's Maxis studio. "The Sims: Superstar offers players the chance to follow their sims as they pursue their dreams in the outrageous world of celebrity."

The Sims: Superstar will have a suggested retail price of $29.99 and an ESRB rating of T for Teen.
