Skate, EA's upcoming challenger to Activision's Tony Hawk series, is set to grind into Aussie stores in October, and EA is starting to ramp up its promo activities locally to build up hype for the game. The company has brought out pro skater John Rattray to Australia to help plug Skate, and will be holding an open event in Sydney tomorrow for gamers and skaters alike.

Dubbed the EA Day of Skate, the event will take place Saturday, September 1 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Customs House Square, Circular Quay, Sydney. As well as having playable demos of the Skate game, 64 of Australia's top skateboarders will be competing in a special tournament, which is being judged by Rattray.

For fans of Rattray, the skater will also be signing autographs from 3 to 3:30 p.m.
