The UK and Ireland chart body, Chart-Track, has been commissioned by the Danish Trade body to compile weekly game software and hardware data. The appointment by the Multi Medie Foreningen comes after a six-month trial period. The first official Danish charts were released on January 9 and showed EA's Need for Speed Carbon as the number-one full-price game and THQ's Cars as the best-selling budget title. The new chart will be compiled with data from Danish retailers B.O. Bøger, Blockbuster, Coop, Dansk Supermarked, EB Games, F Group, Game, and Merlin. Multi Medie Foreningen's managing director, Peter Weile, commented, "For the first time we now have access to independent market retail data, and we see this as a major step forward for the Danish games industry."
EA hits top spot in new Danish chart

Want the latest news about Need for Speed: Carbon?
Theres nothing good about EA.. the only reason its on the top of the charts is because women in Denmark plays the sims, and everything under the maxis category..
as a Dane I would LOVE to see a weekly danish chart, I just hope it won't consist of last-gen sports titles and stupid movie tie ins.......
That sound great for me as a Dane, If now only Denmark could sprout more companies like IO interactive :)
The reason why Carbon is on top? Because most real gamers import their games from UK or asia - prices in Denmark are way too high. At least they're cheaper now than when Nintendo used cardriges (I remember paying 799DKR ~ 139USD for Mission Impossible 64 when I was younger. Man I was a fool). Anyway, appreciates a bit of danish news here on GameSpot...
"Do they know of the Hitman series?" OMFG! Thanks for the laugh. Notice the devaloper for Hitman is IOI - their webpage? www.ioi.dk. DK! The devalopers of the Hitman series live and work in Copenhagen mate, I could reach them from here within less than an hour! :D Also, the chart is crap. One of the biggest retailers in Denmark is Fona - why are they not in it? Silly people! :/ Oh well, the Danish are getting along nicely on the entertainment front I think. You know Matador? Made in Denmark. About 4 other series from DR (Danmarks Radio) also won international awards - all made in the 21st century. (Matador isn't though, hehe - but Krøniken, the sequal, is.) On the gamefront we only really have Hitman to brag with, but I hope that improves eventually. I've heard the politicians are currently making out a deal similar to that they have with movies - they actually give funds to new gamedevalopers in Denmark (if it comes through) and call it "kulturstøttelse" which basically means "cultural devalopment money for you!" I hope it comes through to be honest. I'm surprised that Gamespot writes about this though. But sure, whatever. Cheers from Denmark! =)
ObiKKa "Do they know of the Hitman series?" Sure we do, it sold as good, as in other places. kelinn "I've once seen a good Danish movie called "I Kina spiser de hunde" Other than those movies, the danish movies are predictble and boring
Nico4 "Good to see Denmark is finally getting noticed. Our movies sucks though" I've once seen a good Danish movie called "I Kina spiser de hunde" when my Danish teacher showed it in class.
Good for Denmark, but these gamers don't know much. Why didn't they buy Most Wanted instead of Carbon. Cars #2? Do they know of the Hitman series?
I'm Danish too. It's good that people can now access retail market data. It's bad that EA on top of it.... oh well, I can't remember the last game from EA I didn't dl...
Hva??? Det var ikke godt da! I wonder why we play those games. Had Carbon for two days then sold it again, course I hated it!
Thank you, Danish trade body, for commissioning Chart-Track to give us information no one cares about. Unless you live in Danishland.
lol wasnt me..it was The Panda...sometimes he gets angry and rants...because he is forced to wear a green shash
Why is this news...maybe less than 1% of the viewers of this site are Danish...This just in: "My friend bought a copy of Lost Planet on Saturday"...since my friend and I both are on this site, thats more than likely twice the number of Danish people that log in every day...there for...what I just stated SHOULD qualify as news.
It's a big mystery .. 99% of danish gamers can't stand the products EA is releasing. 1% playes the doll house game (The Sims).. Whatever!
Bah they only grabbed the top spot because they bought their own games there to top it. Never in a million years would EA be the best at anything except sucking
need for speed carbon wasn't even that good its ok! most wanted has better graphics and all, theres more players now but game play seem's dry. nothing really that great, but thats ea for ya!!!!
I live in Denmark....and yes EA really dominates here. My friends most buy EA games like the sims 2 and FIFA. This is the first news I hear about Denmark on this website. I know the country is very little, but still.... we got the money
