EA asking for Battlefield 4 feedback

Publisher launches survey polling fans about recently released military shooter.

Electronic Arts has launched a survey asking the public how they feel about the recently released Battlefield 4. The survey, spotted by Game Informer, asks fans who have played the shooter how likely they are to recommend the game on a 0-10 scale from "Not Likely" to "Extremely Likely."

Respondents then have the option to rate and review Battlefield 4 and publish their critique to the Battlefield 4 product page on Amazon. If you rate the game 8 or below, you're prompted to leave comments about how Battlefield 4 could be improved.

You don't get anything for filling out the survey, but if you've been waiting for the chance to let EA know how you feel--love, hate, or indifference--this is your chance.

Battlefield 4's launch last fall was less than ideal. The game suffered from server and stability woes at release, and many of these issues remain for certain platforms. The issues are not only problematic for players, but also EA itself, as the bugs have led to a class-action lawsuit.

My feedback: never release a game in beta. Never.

Now you want our feedback? You didn't ask for it during beta.

EA asking for user feedback on Battlefield 4 is like asking for consecutive kicks to the nutsack.  At least they're trying to keep an open mind on the situation.

When it works it's pretty good. When it doesn't it makes me wanna beat $59.99 out of a Dice employee.

i was quite pissed with the original launch on the ps4 since my campaign save file got corrupted but over time i have noticed improvements in the online aspect of the game, overall i am satisfied with the game.

PSN Asia can't upgrade BF4 PS3 to PS4 while EU&US can. Why I would bother recommend this game.

I haven't played it for about 2 and a half months. It's just sitting there and I maybe played it twice.

They should break this survey into 2.

How would you rate BF4 when working--- 8.5

How would you rate BF4 most of the time --- 2.5

Comment-- When it works, it's a fun experience. Problem is most of the time it is not working because of server related issues.

Picture the scene from Hotshots part deux where he says "War, it's fantastic" but replace fantastic with lagtastic.

I want to like the game but it's not been playable (or enjoyably so) for me thus far. I'll check in on it again soon to see if it has improved.

I really enjoy BF4, but the persistent technical issues are a huge pain. I sometimes have trouble connecting to their servers, the game often crashes during Conquest matches on Dawnbreaker (and usually near the end, which is all the more frustrating), weapon/gadget loadouts sometimes go missing, map-specific weapons can rarely be picked up on the first try (they just fly right out of your hands), it can sometimes take an inordinate amount of time for your weapon to appear after you spawn, and here's a doozie: my campaign progress was lost.

In between the glitches though, I do love going pew! pew! and all that other fun stuff. It's a good game when it works.

That's one single question. Even the survey is bad.

On my PS4 it crash some times, making me loose all my exp in multiplayer, that really sucks and also had problems when i touch the battlepad in the touchpad. The solo game history sucks, only the multiplayer worth it.

I consider myself a very smart consumer as unlike the rest of you bunch,I don't directly rush into the store Day 1 to buy a fuckin video game...it can be GTA VI,Uncharted 4,Elder scrolls 6 but I NEVER buy games or any tech product Day 1.

What I do is wait for the game to release and let the critic reviews roll in and I read at least 10 reviews from critics and another 10 from users..if the average score is good and there isn't any game breaking flaw i then decide my purchase but if there is mention of horrendous amounts of bugs,I simply wait till the developer fully patches it out and then buy the game.

Why not all of you do the same?? You won't have to run around here and there crying for a refund like how you guys are doing it now..shame now you all are stuck with BF4 Beta Edition.

I'm going to go with the strategy for all of EAs games and any other game.

1) Wait for game to release

2) Read spoiler free reviews from critics and user

3) Decide if you want to buy it or not.

@GrenadehDon't make the mistake of thinking DICE / EA ran the "beta" to test things before release and gather feedback, it was merely a "demo" for free advertising / hype building to save on marketing while still spreading the word and squeezing money out of customers by collecting preorders.

This is not how you run a beta, a beta is supposed to gather feedback, to stress test network / server infrastructure, to hunt down balance issues and bugs and so on.

The result proved that no shits were given during beta, no feedback collected, no preparations done, .. nothing.

This survey won't change anything either, it's executed to keep the illusion of them caring, nobody will ever look at the results.

EA has been digging their grave for a long time now, I wonder how much longer they'll manage to stay afloat before drowning in their own bullshit.

@Jacen22 -  make sure you add that detail to the survey ... freaking game needs a hug more than a teddy bear ... :D

Yea, someone told me about the save corruption issues.  I'm not sure if it was true at the time but I tackled SP first (still am) as I usually do with FPSs.

TBHWY, SP has it's own very fascinating set of bugs and issues, so, the game has bugs on both fronts.

whaaaa? I haven't played single player yet, I am still playing BF3 single player.. will I miss out on the story?

Did that to, I heard about the mega patch, downloaded it, and I still had some crashes, freezes and weird behavior ... guess they didn't fix much?

deafwing

@xxmavr1kxx True your comment focuses on the MP aspect of the game but you can also say that the SP campaign has it fare share of .... "interesting behavior."

Wow, that's nuts.  I haven't played MP yet ... : /

@Navardo95The whole point of sites like this is to give us a heads-up about a game, prior to it being launched.  You don't pre-order, you might miss out on some type of bonus such as free DLC, XP etc.   Problem is... all we get prior to release on sites like this, is reporting of what the developers want told.  So in essence the sites end up being lapdogs to the industry.

Battlefield 4 is a good game when it works. Not the game I was expecting from what I had read, not as smooth. Very buggy, unfinished and not much different at all to BF3.   This site gives it 8/10 ... more like 6/10 overall, everything taken into consideration. It's never an 8/10 because the single player campaign is so awful.  But then I don't understand how these muppets mark here, COD Ghosts is a better more polished game/product and it got the same score 8/10. The score the Last of Us 9/10, when it's head and tails above both BF4/COD.  I think they just generally make it up as they go along.

My advice go with your gut, you might make the odd mistake but overall it's probably a better indicator than reading reviews here etc.

@bloody-hell@Grenadeh Sadly, your analysis makes the most sense. EA has no excuse considering how much it is milking this franchise. Perhaps if they fired a department of elderly middle management and used that money for programmers and testers things could actually get done.

Navardo95

@ace-meza @Navardo95 No really is it SO hard to wait a week or two before buying a game that just got released? How can one be SO sure that the game is going to be brilliant just because they are excited about it? Look at Assassin's Creed 3,people were all over it like "This is going to be GOTY BABY!!!" and when it released it also brought forth an army of bugs and people seemed to be brutally disappointed by it...
