One more year in Atlanta, then it's back to the West Coast for E3.

Wednesday, the Interactive Digital Software Association (IDSA), announced that the E3 Expo (Electronic Entertainment Exposition) will return to Los Angeles on May 13 to 15 in 1999.

Next year's E3 will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Georgia World Congress Center on May 28 to 30.

This 1997 E3 moved from LA to Atlanta in order to accommodate the growing numbers of people in the gaming industry. So why come back to LA? IDSA president Doug Lowenstein answers "With the West Coast being the nexus of the global interactive entertainment and multimedia community, LA is uniquely accessible and affordable for our exhibitors and software developers, and is also an attractive destination for many of our retail attendees whose support is critical to E3's success."

Since the show moved to Atlanta, the Los Angeles Convention Center has undergone an expansion that will be able to accommodate the 536,000 square feet needed for the show.
