E3 2014: Assassin's Creed: Unity Coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 28

Ubisoft dates the latest Assassin's Creed game for late October.

Assassin's Creed: Unity will be released on October 28, 2014.

Announced during Ubisoft's E3 2014 press conference, the release date was accompanied by a lengthy CG trailer, featuring Lorde's cover of Everybody Wants to Rule the World, and a new gameplay demo different to the one which debuted earlier today at Microsoft's E3 2014 press conference. The demo starts with the protagonist atop a gargoyle, who bounds his way to ground level at considerable speed--movement certainly looks faster than previous games in the series. There are hundreds and hundreds of NPCs scattered around the Parisien streets, too.

Assassin's Creed: Unity will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Call of Ubi: Assassins at War

I'm worried about co op being put into single player... 8 out of 10 rounds of wolf pack is everyone rushing for kills and ignoring team work and score. So yeah, I'm a little concerned.

Looks sick, what I didn't like about every AC past the first one was the lack of these "grand" assassination missions that the first one and Black Flag nailed. I just hope that the single player isn't hurt by adding co-op, having NPC assassins join you on missions wouldn't be too bad I think. The setting is fantastic too, Revolutionary France. I hated Italy.

Only thing I hate is the use of the word "redefines". Stop it with these buzzwords, just speak honestly about your games.

Looks great. Co-op could have great potential, think about how much more harder they could make the game or even just a few missions, seems like a viable way to increase the difficulty without changing the actual combat or even insta-kills. Although I'm not sure how some people can even judge the difficulty of this game from a single demo, and i'm even more perplexed as to how some can think they aren't improving the series with each game. Ubisoft does an amazing job researching all these different time periods, I for one have been totally immersed with every installment of the series, that alone keeps me coming back. Assassin's Creed 4 was literally the best pirate/sailing/plundering/harpooning game I have ever played and that was JUST the new content they added.

Please can we have some diversity in the characters it's so boring. I wonder what the co-op characters are, hopefully it's not just ezio 2.0 etc.

Not sure why people are upset/surprised that the gameplay is going to be the same, why would they change it after having such a successful series since 2007 with the same or similar gameplay? And they did change it last time with adding the ships. Idk I like Ubisoft personally I think they've done well with the series

The AC series needs a harder difficulty mode, it seriously is too easy.

Wait...

Yep, the combat is still insta-counter kills.

People complain about AC doing the same kind of thing every time -- though I would argue Black Flag had some rather unique, and extremely well executed, features.

Everyone goes mad for the next linear FPS game: You realise they are ALL the same as well? Don't hear anyone complaining about that.

I will say though, it's about time they added a bit more complexity to the combat.

idk i didnt like blackflag i feel like there moving more and more away from there roots while rehashing the same type of character

@juliamorales They could of made the PC ports better :), but i am very happy that Ubisoft ported the game at all + with much better graphics. The AC franchise is one of the better progressing ones, compared to all the other garbage that releases till their 4th game. Another franchise from Ubisoft, Far Cry is doing extremely well. Rainbow Six, and Ghost Recon are also quite good, but new iterations need to be released more often.

@billzihang In my opinion they just need to make a harder setting, everything else works well and should be kept. about FPS, they're really all the same and damn boring. if I could I would ban FPS from consoles

@steaminpotatoes @dorfoz what exactly do you want them to do? Start a new IP cause AC is the same old thing? Well they got a bunch of new IPs, the Crew, Watchdogs, etc etc. All they're doing is keeping the people(the millions) thats still love AC happy by giving them more AC. Its not like they're focusing on AC and nothing else. Ubisoft is EFFIN EPIC.
