E3 2008: Imagine Party Babyz Hands-On

We had to see for ourselves whether or not these babies knew how to party.

Ubisoft has been aiming to create games that are for everyone, but Imagine Party Babyz is clearly not aimed at babies. Perhaps it's for people who like playing as babies? Regardless, Imagine Party Babyz is a compilation of minigames that are relatively simple, and the babies are oh so cute. We decided to stop by and take a quick look at the E3 show floor.

There are more than 30 minigames split into different seasons, but only a few were available for us to try out. One involves waving the Wii Remote wildly to fill a milk bottle and then having your baby drink it by pretending to drink from the Wii Remote. After that, you press A to burp the baby. Surprisingly, the bottle was pretty hard to fill, even with the hectic shaking.

Another game involves trying to get your baby across what looks like the floor of those bounce houses by balancing the Wii Remote horizontally. You can also jump to try to throw off your competitors. The last game we tried has you holding your Wii Remote horizontally as the baby walks forward toward someone whose back is turned. When the person turns around, you have to press A to pose.

We didn't get to try it, but it looks like the babies are customizable because they come in a variety of bizarre-looking outfits. Imagine Party Babyz is set for release later this year.
