Microids will be showing a nearly complete version of White Fear, its action adventure game set in a frozen fantasy world, at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. The game, which is in development for the PC and Sony PlayStation 2, will let you assume the role of Iru, a young shaman on a quest to free his people from the magical attacks of an evil witch called Sukko, the Evil Lord of the North.

The game will include fast-paced combat as well as puzzle-driven adventure elements. Through the course of the game, you will explore the game's snow-covered world, which is filled with creatures, characters, and spirits. Some of the magical spirits Iru meets along the way will teach him new magic spells, and in the end he must confront and defeat the evil lord using his spells and harpoon.

We've posted some new screenshots in the gallery above that show off some of the game's characters and spell effects. White Fear is in development at WideScreen Games and is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2002.
