This morning, Epic Games and Radioactive Clown announced their plans to release toys based on the characters in the upcoming Unreal Tournament 2003 and Unreal Championship. The high-detail re-creations of the Unreal characters will also bear the series' trademark weaponry, including the flak cannon, sniper rifle, and translocator. Radioactive Clown is the first toy company to focus entirely on video and computer game franchises, and the figures will be sculpted by Steve Kiwus, who in the past has molded figures for the Spider-Man, X-Men, and Lord of the Rings franchises.

"The Unreal games have a loyal fan base, and we want to keep giving them more," said Jay Wilbur, strategic advisor, Epic Games. "Immortalizing the characters into collectible action figures is the next step. We are excited to be working Radioactive Clown. They have a solid retail channel in place and are a company that stands behind the art of action-figure making--representing the creative talents of both the developers and the sculptors. Their passion is something that we admire."
