E3 2002: Doomsday Rescue displayed

The world will explode in a matter of hours, and it's up to you to evacuate the planet in Midway's upcoming multiplatform game.

Midway showed a brief video of Doomsday Rescue, one of its upcoming action games, at the 2002 E3. The game's premise puts the world at extreme risk. In fact, it's about to be destroyed. So it's up to you, in a flying craft, to go from city to city, evacuating as many people as possible and transporting them to a new planet.

Of course, the alien threat that is scheduled to smash the earth isn't exactly thrilled about your evacuation plans, so you must battle the alien menace while trying to save lives. The game takes place in lots of different cities, including Sydney and Hong Kong. The video shows your ship from a third-person chase camera view.

Doomsday Rescue is currently scheduled to ship sometime in 2003 for Xthe box, GameCube, and PlayStation 2.
