E3 2002: Codemasters announces three for the GameCube

Three of the European publisher's most highly anticipated games are coming to Nintendo's GameCube.

Codemasters announced today that it will publish Colin McRae Rally 3, Club Football, and Shoot to Kill: Columbian Crackdown for the GameCube. All three games are currently slated for release sometime in 2003.

"Codemasters' ethos is to support the world's most successful gaming formats," said Mike Hayes, Codemasters' marketing director. "Nintendo has produced an excellent machine and we believe it provides the base for our developers to produce superb editions of these titles. Given Nintendo's continued strength in the global market, the GameCube will become one of Codemasters' key publishing platforms."

Colin McRae Rally 3 is the third installment in Codemasters' highly popular rally racing franchise, and it allows players to play as McRae with three years to win a series of international championships for Ford.

Club Football is the company's team-specific soccer game, and it will be released in 15 different versions in Europe. Codemasters claims that the game will be the most realistic simulation of soccer ever released. The following team-specific editions of the game will be released in Europe: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Leeds United, Liverpool, Manchester United, Rangers, Borussia Dortmund, Hamburg SV, FC Bayern Munich, Ajax, FC Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus.

Shoot to Kill: Columbian Crackdown is a first-person shooter that takes place deep within the Columbian drug underworld. As a Drug Enforcement Administration officer, players must bring the gangs and individuals involved in trafficking cocaine to justice.

We'll have more information on Codemasters' GameCube offerings when it becomes available.
