Midway showed off a brief trailer for Mortal Kombat, its new fighting game sequel. Other than some mean-looking actors walking around, someone branding the MK dragon symbol on his palm, and a brief pre-rendered animation of Scorpion looking directly into the camera, there really wasn't much to see. However, we have learned that the new game won't be called Mortal Kombat 5, and that it will most likely just be called Mortal Kombat. Dropping the number is being done in an effort to make the latest installment feel like a "rebirth" of the series.
GameSpot News will have more details on MK as soon as they become available.
