E3 2001: First look at Metroid Prime

Nintendo today released new shots from the GameCube version of Metroid, the Retro Studios-developed Metroid Prime.

The game was shown within a video montage of GameCube titles, however not much footage was seen and no new details on the game are available as yet. We expect to learn more about the game later during the E3 convention. For now, enjoy the screens.

A release date for Metroid Prime has yet to be announced.
