E3 2001 First ImpressionsTetris Worlds

For years, developers have been trying to figure out ways to revamp the tried-and-true formula that made Tetris one of the most popular video game franchises of all time. THQ tries its hand at reinventing the classic puzzle game with Tetris Worlds for the Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 2, and GameCube. The concept behind Tetris Worlds is an odd one. Spacefaring players travel to a universe where Tetris is played in different fashions on different planets. Players can opt to play classic mode or one of an array of new variations on the theme. Tetris Worlds will be arriving on the PC, PlayStation 2, and Game Boy Advance this fall, followed by a GameCube release in 2002.
