Visual Concepts hopes that its development experience with the NFL 2K series will help the studio create a polished college football game in its first season, with NCAA College Football 2K2 for the Sega Dreamcast. Judging from the information released thus far on the game, the development studio is well on its way. NCAA College Football 2K2 will come packed with a host of features, including single season, dynasty mode, realistic college football-specific plays, create-a-play options, network play, and practice mode.

The game's single player mode lets the player compete for a bowl spot and make a run at the the national championship. In the dynasty mode, players can assume the role of the athletic director at their favorite college and recruit players, evaluate transfers, redshirt players, establish off-season training prorams, and tweak the lineup in a quest to become the most storied NCAA program. Full stats are compiled for individual players in both modes of play. In the gamplay department, Visual Concepts plans to tweak the NFL 2K2 engine to give it a more college-style feel. The game will include team specific playbooks, so that the Nebraska Cornhuskers will try to run it down the middle and the Florida State Seminoles will air it out. Naturally, the option play is a big part of the gameplay style of specific teams such as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Heisman Trophy and the National Championship will be within reach on the Dreamacast this fall in Sega Sports' NCAA College Football 2K2.
