E3 06: Eidos to show PSP 300: March to Glory

Eidos Interactive will distribute action fighting game 300: March to Glory for Sony PlayStation Portable, due for release in 2007.

LOS ANGELES--Eidos Interactive has announced a deal with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to distribute 300: March to Glory. The game is based on the film of the same name, and it's slated for release in North America and Europe in 2007 on the PlayStation Portable.

In the game, players will take on the role of the Spartan king Leonidas. According to legend, Leonidas held back the might of Xerxes and the entire Persian army with just 300 Spartan soldiers, which will translate into an action game with combat elements.

The game will offer players the chance to fight solo and with other soldiers as part of the historic phalanx formation. We'll have more details as they become available directly from E3.

I think this is the 300 being directed by Zack Snyder (the man behind the Dawn of the Dead remake)...And penned by the legendary Sin City comic writer, Frank Miller...I love Frank Miller, and I think Zack Snyder is very talented...But I doubt they are going to be too involved in this adaptation...Which means it likely will blow. So much for being optimistic...Unless it takes the road of Riddick, which is statistically very improbable.

sounds interetsting....esp if you start with 300 soldiers at the beginning of the game, and to win, that's all you have....kind of like starting contra with 300 extra lives, and you have to finish without continuing

Excuse me if I don't get too excited about yet another film to game conversion.
