TOKYO - Koei and Softbank announced today that they will be joining forces to release an online, PC-based version of Dynasty Warriors in Japan titled "Sengoku Musou BB" ["BB" stands for "broadband"]. Koei will develop Sengoku Musou BB, while Softbank, a major IT company that operates the Japanese Yahoo Web portal, will distribute the game. The game's management and server operations will be handled by both companies.

Details on Sengoku Musou BB haven't been released yet, but the game is expected to have three different modes in which the player can play alone or with a large number of people. Players will start off by creating character and then going to a city to meet up with other players and go on missions. There will be three kinds of missions: a small-party mission in which players can play alone or with a few friends, a large-party mission in which players can go on a quest with an army ranging from 10 to hundreds of people, and a battle mission featuring thousands of players going against each other.

Slated for release in spring 2006, Sengoku Musou BB will be available only for the PC. To be able to play, gamers will have to subscribe to Softbank's ADSL ISP, Yahoo BB.
