Dynasty Warriors 5 gets card-game tie-in

Koei's hack-and-slash action franchise gets the tactical-trading-card-game treatment; cards to feature artwork from the series' illustrator.

TOKYO--Koei today announced that it will release a trading card game in Japan based on Dynasty Warriors 5. The game will play in a one-on-one battle format and feature a total of 266 cards that can be collected, of which 160 will have new artwork drawn by the series' character designer Hiroyuki Suwahara. Like with most trading card games, Koei will offer a starter pack and booster packs for its Dynasty Warriors 5 TCG. The starter pack will include 53 basic cards, and it will be priced at 1,500 yen ($13). Meanwhile, the booster packs will include 10 cards, and each will be priced at 280 yen ($2.50). The trading card game will be released in Japan on July 29.
