Dying Light's previously announced hard mode will launch on March 10, developer Techland announced today. The new difficulty mode will come to the open-world zombie game via a patch that launches the same day as the game's latest DLC, the Ultimate Survivor Bundle.
In Dying Light's hard mode, players will face more difficult nighttime scenarios and deadlier, "more vicious" enemies. In addition, players will find fewer resources and supplies to scavenge, while you'll also need to utilize stealth and silence more than normal, Techland says.
As for the Ultimate Survivor Bundle, it includes new weapons--The Constable, the Night Club, Lacerator, and Buzz Killer--as well as new character outfits, including the Ninja, Urban Explorer, and Special Agent. It will be available through the Dying Light DLC pass or it can be purchased separately for $5.
The March 10 Dying Light update--called Patch 1.4--introduces hard mode, an additional tier to weapon rarity level, extra rewards for beating the game, more character outfits, and "dozens" of new weapons. Everything in patch 1.4 is free and will be available across all platforms.
Techland also plans to release Dying Light official modding tools for PC
