Dying Light Has Mario, The Last of Us Easter Eggs

Fans keep discovering more and more Easter eggs in Techland's recently released open-world zombie game.

Dead Island developer Techland's open-world zombie game Dying Light is stuffed with Easter eggs. Not only does it have its own version of a Destiny Loot Cave, but the game also features references to Mario's World 1-1 and Naughty Dog's The Last of Us.

Watch the video above, from YouTube user Alex Noon, to find out how to find Dying Light's hidden Mario level. As you can see, you jump into a green warp pipe to descend into a first-person take on World 1-1 from Super Mario Bros. It's definitely weird.

As for Dying Light's The Last of Us Easter egg, you'll encounter an enemy that bears a strong resemblance to the freaky Clicker creatures about halfway through the game. Watch the video at the bottom of this post to see this in action.

Dying Light was released last week for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It has already netted more than 1.2 million players across all platforms. For more on Dying Light, check out GameSpot's review.
