Dungeon Full of Chocobos
Square's next PlayStation RPG stars none other than the Chocobos. Screenshot inside.
The popularity of Square's Final Fantasy games in Japan cannot be questioned - both Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy Tactics have been huge hits, so there's no reason for the company to stop producing games in the series. Surprisingly, the next RPG to come out of Square's Final Fantasy property is Chocobo: Mysterious Dungeon.
Developed by Chunsoft, the game takes place completely in dungeons. From the looks of it, the game is very similar to the original dungeon game the company created using the Dragon Quest name - Torneko's Great Adventure: Mysterious Dungeon for the Super Famicom. Koichi Nakamura, the president of Chunsoft and producer of both Dragon Quest and Torneko's Great Adventure, will be supervising the production.
Knowledge about the story and gameplay is scarce; however, the original Super Famicom Mysterious Dungeon title had dungeons that changed each time the game was played. The game will hopefully be arriving on Japanese store shelves by the end of the year.
