Dune Generations site relaunched
Cryo Networks opens a new Web site for its upcoming massively multiplayer online strategy game.
Cryo Networks has launched a new Web site for Dune Generations, its upcoming massively multiplayer strategy game based on the Dune universe created by sci-fi author Frank Herbert. The new Web site contains a detailed description of the game, a gallery of new screenshots and artwork, downloadable wallpaper images, and answers to frequently asked questions.
Dune Generations will let players assume control of a dynasty in the Dune universe. Players can choose to control one of three types of dynasties--traders, soldiers, or mercenaries--and each dynasty type provides a different playing experience. The goal of the game is to build the dynasty into the most powerful family in the universe and gain control of the planet Arrakis, the source of the most precious substance in the universe: spice.
We've posted some new screenshots from the game in the gallery above. Dune Generations is currently in closed alpha testing, and it is expected to enter beta testing later this month. The game is tentatively scheduled for release in mid-2002. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game and visit the new official Dune Generations Web site.
