Dune: Part Two was supposed to be in theaters already, but WB Discovery delayed the film to 2024 back in August. Now, the sci-fi film's release date has changed again--but in a good way.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dune: Part Two is now scheduled to hit theaters on March 1, 2024, which is two weeks earlier than its previously planned March 15 release date. The Dune sequel scooped up the March 1 date after Universal's The Fall Guy starring Ryan Gosling moved off that date recently.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Dune: Part Two brings back Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and others from the first film, in addition to new roles played by Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, and Christopher Walken.

WBD delayed Dune: Part Two due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The strike is now over, but when it was in effect, the movie's stars were forbidden from doing publicity for the movie.

2021's Dune made more than $400 million at the global box office, despite its simultaneous release in theaters and on Max (which was known as HBO Max at the time). If you haven't seen Dune, it's streaming now on Max and also Netflix.

Outside of the movie world, the video game Dune: Spice Wars is coming to Xbox Game Pass on console this month. After that, the MMO Dune Awakening is in the works but has no release date.
