Card-dueling games based on anime series have been hugely popular since Pokemon made its debut in the late 1990s. After Pokemon came Yu-Gi-Oh, and today we have Duel Masters. While anime fanatics in North America can already watch the Duel Masters show on Cartoon Network, Atari is planning to launch a new card-dueling game for the Game Boy Advance based on Duel Masters. The game's release in June will coincide roughly with the US launch of the Duel Masters trading card game from Wizards of the Coast.

As far as the GBA game is concerned, the story will put you in the role of a "kohai," or junior duelist. Your grandfather, a great "sempai," or senior duelist, has decided to pass a particularly valuable card down to you. But before you get a chance to take the card it gets stolen, which begins your great adventure through many towns and villages as you search for the card. Along the way, you'll engage in plenty of exploration, duel dozens of opponents, and participate in tournaments as you gain in rank and collect new cards to improve your deck. Fans of the anime series can expect to see many familiar characters in the game.

Duel Masters: Sempai Legends will include 180 different cards, all representing creatures or spells. If you have a GBA Link cable, you can duel a friend with your created deck in head-to-head battles, or just trade cards.
