Although EverQuest shipped last millennium and has already seen a full-fledged sequel steal some of its online thunder, Sony Online Entertainment is still bringing new content to its dragon-slaying community first formed in 1999. SOE today shipped EverQuest: Dragons of Norrath, an expansion to the original EverQuest.

"EverQuest continues to expand and thrive, and the addition of EverQuest: Dragons of Norrath builds upon the legacy of EverQuest," said Michael Lustenberger, vice president of marketing, Sony Online Entertainment.

In Dragons of Norrath, a new evil invades the land, forcing heroes to return and seek out the Nest, the sacred birthplace of all dragons in the lands between Halas and Lavastorm.

The expansion features enhanced graphics, new zones to explore, and new creatures to slay. A new interactive map allows adventurers to point and click between different views, and a new potion belt eases inventory use. A host of new guild features has been added, including instanced guild halls, a guild bank for safe storage of items and currency, and easy teleportation to guilds through guild stones.

EverQuest: Dragons of Norrath is available at retail stores with a collector's edition cloth map and in-game potions, or via digital download from the EverQuest Station Store. Both versions are rated "T" for Teen and sell for $29.99.
