Red Storm Entertainment has announced that it will publish Dragonriders: Chronicles of Pern and Conflict Zone in mid-2001. The change comes as a result of Ubi Soft's acquisition of Red Storm. Dragonriders is a third-person adventure game based on the popular Dragonriders of Pern series of fantasy novels by Anne McCaffrey. Players assume the role of D'kor and interact with more than 170 non-player characters in more than 120 different 3D locations. The game is in development at Ubi Soft's UK Studios.

Conflict Zone is a real-time military strategy game in development at French studio M.A.S.A. The game was formerly known as Peacemakers. Players assume the role of either the ICP or the dictators, and both sides must be concerned with publicity. The game features traditional strategy features such as resource gathering, base building, and combat, but it also includes television cameras watching every move, and funding is directly tied to public opinion. Conflict Zone features both single-player and multiplayer campaigns.

We'll have more information about these games in the coming weeks.
