Gamers without a date will have something to occupy themselves with this coming Valentine's Day. This morning, Nintendo announced that Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation will ship in North America on February 14 exclusively for the DS. Published by Square Enix, the game was a massive hit in Japan earlier this year, selling nearly 1 million copies in a single week.

Already a hit in Japan, Dragon Quest VI is now coming to US DSs.

A remake of the classic 1995 SNES role-playing game of the same name--which never saw an international release--Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation will add a series of improvements to the original. Players will have the ability to allow monsters to join their party and switch between character classes. The game will have 15 character classes in all, with nine available at the game's start.

Storywise, Dragon Quest VI follows an unnamed hero and his party as they battle the evil demon king Murdaw. However, twists quickly ensue, with the protagonist becoming stuck between two realms--the real world and a phantom world of dreams. He eventually embarks on a quest to uncover his true identity--with surprising results.
