[UPDATE] The hotfix has been deployed; check out the new Nightfall rewards here.

The original story is below.

After admitting Destiny's Nightfall rewards were so bad it could "feel like losing," Bungie is preparing to roll out a new update that promises better prizes for players who complete the missions.

These new rewards will arrive today, October 20, at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 6 PM UK via a patch. Until the patch is released, Bungie recommends you do not play the Nightfall missions.

The Taken King received high praise at launch in September, but not everyone was happy with the changes made to Nightfall events. Before, drops were random, but you always received a reputation buff with items you received. With The Taken King, however, this reputation buff was removed.

The items players received (consumables like Strange Coins or an allotment of Three of Coins) for their efforts felt underwhelming to some. That's changing with the new update, though it remains to be seen what the new rewards are and if players will find them worthy.

We'll update this post with more details as they become available.
