Donkey Kong 64 Jumps to DD
New reports circulate about Nintendo's plans for Donkey Kong 64.
Reports from Japan indicate Donkey Kong Country 64 is in development, but only for the Disk Drive system. Recently delayed until at least March 1998, the system reportedly has at least 20 game titles in development - one of which is now DKC 64. An interview with Shigeru Miyamoto also reveals that Mario 64 II is in development for the Disk Drive.
At E3, not even a prototype of the DD unit was shown. Howard Lincoln said on Wednesday at Nintendo's pre-E3 press conference that the company won't release the drive until game software supports it. The projected release date for the US is spring '98.
