Activision will be launching its two major rhythm game installments within three weeks of each other, as Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock hits its opening chord on September 28 and DJ Hero 2 spins out October 19. The publisher is releasing demos for the games on the same day, though, saying today that free samplers for both games are now available on Xbox Live.

Highlighting Warriors of Rock's emphasis on heavy tunes, the game's demo brings four tracks from the genre's biggest names. Songs included in the free sampler are Black Sabbath's "Children of the Grave," Foo Fighters' "No Way Back," and Dethklok's "Bloodlines," as well as "Ghosts" by Guns N' Roses shredder Slash and featuring Ian Astbury.

R.U.S.E.'s demo probably isn't a feint.

The club scene will be far more interested in the sampler for DJ Hero 2. The four-track sampler is as follows:
Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes in "Don't Cha" mixed with Pitbull's "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)"
Lady Gaga featuring Colby O'Donis in "Just Dance" mixed with Deadmau5's "Ghosts N Stuff"
MSTRKRFT featuring N.O.R.E. in "Bounce" (Battle Mix)
Estelle featuring Kanye West in "American Boy" mixed with Chic's "Good Times"

Activision isn't the only studio bringing out demos this week. With Ubisoft's counterintelligence-heavy strategy game R.U.S.E. hitting retail shelves on Tuesday, a sampler for the game is now available through Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, having launched on Steam last week. The demo gives players command of Allied forces in confrontations against Germany and Italy, culminating in tactical nuclear strikes to achieve victory.
