Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Gets September 23 Release Date

Fans who pre-order from selected retailers will receive a Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel figure.

Disney Interactive has announced a retail release date for the upcoming Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, which will launch in Australia and New Zealand on September 18 and in North America on September 23.

Pre-orders kick off today, and players who pre-order the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack from selected retailers will also receive a Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel figure. All characters and power discs from 2013's Disney Infinity will be compatible with the game.

Fans who own the original Disney Infinity game are also able to purchase Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes digitally. Yesterday, Disney Interactive confirmed a Guardians of the Galaxy playset for Marvel Super Heroes. The characters will be playable in the game's Toy Box 2.0 mode.

I thought the skylander fad was already over??? Over-priced hype.

So, based on pre-order and this article, the only way to get the avengers playset is to buy a whole new starter set, since you can't digitally download a crystal playset piece.

This is one of the additions that'll push infinity ahead of skylanders

Disney is smelling the money.  They are going to milk this infinity thing into the ground.

Looks fun but wow are the figured insanely priced. 15 bucks per character? That is insanely expensive dlc (although the dlc is the character in game and a figure)

Can't wait for it. More excited about the prospect of the addition of Star Wars figures.

Given the superhero craze, this was a no-brainer.

@shinrae5 Keep in mind that each character has their own 3-4 hour campaign attached to it. Plus each character has specific Toy Box mode items as well. When looking at it that way it falls on par with DLC from games like CoD in terms of value. Plus you get a nice collectible figurine to boot.

@Zombrex No stop talking right there this is a Kids game most kids do not like or no what Star wars is or even like it. Making this game with Starwars characters would not appeal to the target audience.

@EasyComeEasyGo Bought Skylanders Swap Force a few weeks ago for my daughters. I'm now up to 12 figures and I play it just as much as they do. I love it and I can't wait for Infinity 2.0.

Are you completely daft?

A.) George Lucas specifically has said that kids are the target audience for Star Wars, hence Jar Jar.

B.) Star Wars toys are some of the hottest selling toys year after year. Hell last year a 36 inch Darth Vader was one of the best selling toys at Walmart. Not to mention the wall of Lego Star Wars set you're likely to see in stores and the plethora of Star Wars video games.

@Deadlysyns87 @Zombrex  "most kids do not like or no what Star wars is or even like it."

What?

Lightsabers are still a hot christmas item. Also, Clone Wars has been popular among kids. Also... surely you were joking, right? o_o

Sounds about right. Small price to pay for family time at home.

We don't have cable or anything of interest nearby so it all works out.
