Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Use DreamSnaps

Disney Dreamlight Valley is overflowing with fun things to do, but the new DreamSnaps feature adds even more ways to engage with your valley--and the dedicated community around the world. By taking photos that meet specific guidelines, you can enter into weekly competitions, vote on others' submissions, and earn some unique cosmetics and furniture. However you wish to be involved with DreamSnaps, here's how it all works.

How to use DreamSnaps in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There's a whole lot to know about DreamSnaps, so we'll break it all down for you. But first, to begin participating in the DreamSnaps competitions, you'll need to unlock the feature by meeting Vanellope. We've put together a quick guide on how to unlock Vanellope, so follow that and then read on for how everything works.

Entering weekly challenges

A new DreamSnap challenge begins every week on Wednesday at 9 AM EST. Each week's challenge will require you to submit a photo meeting specific expectations, such as including clothing or furniture with specific colors or trait tags--such as Elegant, Lavish, Wondrous, etc. In some cases, you may even be required to include a specific character in your photo to enter.

You can view the current week's challenge by heading to your Event Tab and then scrolling down to DreamSnaps > Current Challenge. Here, you'll be able to see all of the requirements you'll need to meet in order to submit a photo.

By opening the Wardrobe or Furniture menus and clicking on specific categories, you can choose to filter by color, trait, and style by using the Filter button located at the top right of the box. This should help you narrow down precisely what options you have available to you to make the most of your photos.

When you've ensured that you have a nice shot ready to be captured, open your camera and take a picture containing all of the items and clothing you'd like included. After you've snapped the photo, select "Show DreamSnaps" (seen on the bottom left of your new photo) and make sure everything checks out. If it has met the minimum requirements listed, you'll be able to hit "Submit."

You can also vote on others' submissions by heading to the Event Tab and then scrolling down to DreamSnaps > Vote Now.

Rewards

You will earn 50 Moonstones for voting in the weekly challenge, while your submission will earn you a minimum of 300 Moonstones and a chest containing cosmetic items, while the top five players' photos of the week can earn between 5,500 Moonstones and a whopping 12,000 Moonstones. If you want to increase your chances of raking in that kind of cash, make sure you put in some real effort when snapping your photos.

Additionally, your submissions can earn you Pixel Dust. This currency fills up a progress bar in the DreamSnaps tab that will increase your DreamSnaps level each time it fills up. The quality of your photos impacts how much Pixel Dust you obtain, so be sure to exceed the weekly challenge requirements with even more furniture and clothing of the colors and traits requested.

DreamSnaps isn't the only way to earn free Moonstones.
