Strategy First has announced that Disciples II: Guardians of the Light is now shipping to retail stores in North America. The stand-alone expansion will give players two new campaigns and let them play as the Empire and the mountain clans, two of the main game's four factions. Guardians of the Light also includes 16 maps that can be used for skirmish or multiplayer games and a random map generator. There are also a few technical enhancements, such as improved AI features for computer opponents and support for higher graphics resolutions.

"We are very happy to be giving Disciples fans even more to get excited about," said Don McFatridge, president of Strategy First. "Guardians of the Light will have die-hard fans coming back for more and will give newcomers to the franchise a chance to experience the Disciples world we love so much."

Disciples II: Guardians of the Light will have a suggested retail price of $19.99. A second expansion, Servants of the Dark, will feature the two evil factions and is scheduled for July. For more details, check out our preview of both expansions.
