Dirt 4 Announced With Teaser Trailer, Coming This Year For PS4, Xbox One, and PC
Coming June 2017.
Codemasters has announced Dirt 4, the newest entry in the offroad acing series. The game is scheduled to come out in June 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
"Dirt 4 takes the passion and authenticity of off-road racing to the next level, whilst also re-introducing you all to white-knuckle truck and buggy racing in Landrush," Codemasters said in its announcement.
According to Codemasters, Dirt 4 will put an emphasis on the dangerous nature of motorsports. "Dirt 4 is all about embracing that danger," the developer said. "It's about the thrill, exhilaration, and adrenaline that is absolutely vital to offroad racing."
Codemasters isn't ready to lift the veil completely in terms of new features. However, the developer shared some first details on a system called "Your Stage," which can be used to create stages.

"You choose your location and set the route parameters, then Your Stage does the hard work to create a unique rally stage that you can race, share with your friends, and then challenge them to beat your time" the developer said. "Your Stage allows experienced rally players to create longer, more technical routes, whilst newcomers can create simpler shorter routes as they hone their skills."
Dirt 4 follows the 2016 racing game Dirt Rally, but is the first numbered entry since 2011's Dirt 3. We'll report back with more details on Dirt 4 as they become available.
