TDK Mediactive has announced that its Game Boy Advance game Dinotopia: The Timestone Pirates has shipped to stores. Dinotopia: The Timestone Pirates has been released to coincide with the premiere of the Hallmark Entertainment miniseries Dinotopia, which is slated to begin May 12 on the ABC television network. The six-hour miniseries is based on James Gurney's vision of a fantasy world where dinosaurs and humans live peaceably together. Hallmark Entertainment and ABC have also announced that production has begun in Budapest, Hungary, on 13 one-hour episodes of Dinotopia: The Series, which will continue the story begun in the miniseries.

Dinotopia: The Timestone Pirates places players in the role of a character named Clayton, who will proceed through five different levels based on locales from the Dinotopia universe--the Sunken Caves, Treetown, Waterfall, Canyon City, and Diamond Caverns. Players will be able to pilot a flying dinosaur, navigate a submarine, and ride a hadrosaur in the search for stolen tyrannosaur eggs and the legendary timestone.

"The vibrant culture and amazingly detailed world of James Gurney's Dinotopia set a high standard for our game," said Stefan Serwe, vice president of marketing at TDK Mediactive. "With that in mind, we crafted an action adventure with vivid graphics, enthralling characters, and an enticing storyline that is true to James Gurney's remarkable imagination."
