At E3 2004, Bandai will showcase the fourth installment in its Digimon World series, tentatively titled Digimon World 4. This latest title marks the first foray by the series onto current-generation platforms. In the game, all access to the "real world" has been terminated, and it is up to you as a member of the Digital Security Guard to discover what has happened and to uncover the mystery behind a new world you will discover along the way.

Digimon World 4 will feature an all-new, real-time battle system, which is a significant shift from the original turn-based style of gameplay. All of the most popular Digimon creatures from the television show will be featured in the game as well as several "Digivolved" Digimon, which can be unlocked by mastering various types of skills and techniques. A multiplayer mode will also be included for up to four players on all consoles.

Digimon World 4 is scheduled for release this summer on the GameCube, Xbox, and PlayStation 2. We will have more coverage of the game from E3 2004.
