Bits Studios and NDA Productions have today announced that they are working on a PlayStation 2 version of Die Hard: Vendetta, which was originally released for the GameCube in November last year. The movie-inspired first-person shooter will feature a number of improvements over last year's version, including multiplayer options that were conspicuous by their absence on the GameCube.

"We are extremely excited by Die Hard: Vendetta for the PlayStation 2, incorporating the multiplayer option as well as other features, and are sure that players will be too," said Foo Katan, CEO, Bits Studios. "We aim to ensure that our products excel in quality and gameplay, irrespective of platform, and trust that we will fulfil this goal with this version of Die Hard: Vendetta."

Details of further improvements to the game have not been released at this time, but we do know that the new multiplayer options will include 14 levels and around 100 playable characters to choose from. Gameplay modes will include deathmatch and king of the hill, and additional weapons, including a minigun, a paintball gun, and boxing gloves, will complement the arsenal for the single-player game.

The PS2 version of Die Hard: Vendetta is scheduled for release later this year. For more information on the game, you might like to check out our full review of the GameCube version.
