Diablo III: Storm of Light coming 2014

Blizzard novel bridges gap between Diablo III and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls expansion.

Blizzard has announced release details of Diablo III: Storm of Light, the next novel in the Diablo series.

The novel addresses events that take place between the end of Diablo III and its upcoming expansion, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. Characters Jacob and Shanar from the Diablo: Sword of Justice comic series serve as protagonists in the Storm of Light novel.

Diablo III: Storm of Light will be out in 2014. Additional details, including where to preorder the novel, are available on the Battle.net website.

Diablo III launched on the PC and Mac last year. The game recently made its debut on console to positive reception. The expansion, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, was announced for the PC at this year's Gamescom. Blizzard has not revealed a release date for Reaper of Souls.

I despise when they put story stuff into supplemental materials like this.

Oh wait, Diablo 3?  The story is garbage anyways!

And then I held down the attack button and used a potion if my health sent low. Best game ever

Man, some of the Diablo novels weren't very good. And they could have been EPIC! Ah well, WoW has some decent novels though. Lord of the Clans, the story of Thrall, is probably one of the best!

Do you have to be always online to read this book?

Just release the game already!  If I wanted to read a book I'd pick up something from Brandon Sanderson...

I'm unsure what this have to do with Gamespot.

And what about Bioshock Infinite board game?  Magic the gathering cards?  Timesplitters Tshirts?  Dead space novel?

I always wondered how a book about Diablo / Sanctuario works? Except for Diablo, Deckard Caine and Tyrael, Diablo isn't exactly known for strong or rich characters, and even these 3 only have basic personality traits. Guess it's like this: "And then I slashed a zombie. From the shadwos crawled some imps which I killed as well. Then I crushed some skeletons with my warhammer. And then another 10.000 Zombies, Imps and Skeletons. Which I repeated a several 1.000.000 times until I faced the Lord of Hell, Diablo himself. And then I killed him. - The End"

reminds me of the phrase "milking it until it's balls drop off"

Probably because its not horrible and games are judged subjectively. People have to stop crying about other people liking games. It's just plain stupid.

looks like very few people realize its a novel not an expansion.

I've read all Diablo novels I could find and while they were entertaining and all, they felt like fast food. It feels good while you consume it, but it doesn't leave you with much afterwards. The novel Moon of the Spider, about the necromancer Zayl, was better than those found in the Diablo Archive (an omnibus edition), because it had enough pages to create a story with some depth. The necromancer is my favorite class, but even that book paled in comparison with other fantasy books (not based on games). I'd rather buy more Witcher novels than another Diablo novel.

If you buy it, the novel gives you balance tweaks as well a new 10 lvl increase from 70-80.

With the writing that Diablo 3 saw, I am convinced that this will be utter shit.

@Sadeq Safari

That's why it's called a "novel". You should have known this.

@fanirama You can buy or sell pages of the book for real money on the auction house.

@fanirama When trying to read the book, does Error 33 risk happening, denying you access to the books content? Content you paid to have access to.

@Darkreaper_1 If you're milking a bovine with balls, you're doing it wrong.

...or very right. I guess that just depends.

@Zatto-1 If that were true, the novel should be renamed "Shitstorm of Light", because that is what would follow across the internet then.

@Sardinar i agree.  The story for D3 and Starcraft 2 have been pretty bad.  No where near as good as their predecessors.

@minty_cbo @SteamyPotatoes @brokenapples Funny thing is, after they admitted that auction house was the problem, they decided to continue with it. The Blizzard dev basically said in an interview "we screwed up with the auction house...so we've decided to keep it".

Never thought i'd see the day where I would simply dislike the company...

@radikel @SteamyPotatoes @Karpola

For such a "crappy" game it was surprisingly well received by critics not to mention the crazy amount of copies Blizzard has sold.

Methinks perhaps you simply dislike the genre?

@SteamyPotatoes @Karpola @radikel

hahaha 300!!! But i guess no matter how crappy D3 is, we just fight against human nature!!! We just gots ta have DA SHINiEESSSS!!!

From my perspective, i just dont understand the point of playing a stupid game for hrs on end for an item thts almost zero chance of dropping(a way to lure you in).

Having said that, i did play a lot of D2, although i regret it now. I decided after that to keep away from loot driven games like these ( especially with RMAH).

Gimme DARK SOULS anyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
