Developer of Sunset Overdrive and Resistance Announces Slow Down Bull

Insomniac's new game is being made by only a few developers, and its creation will be live-streamed.

Insomniac Games, creator of Resistance, Sunset Overdrive, and Ratchet and Clank, has announced its newest project. Called Slow Down Bull, it is a small game designed to channel the indie spirit of the studio. This means that the development team consists of only 4-5 people.

In Slow Down Bull, you take control of a bull and attempt to collect valuable objects. But the bull's instinct is to destroy these things. So you must balance the desire to collect with the increasing agitation of the bull.

"Slow Down Bull is a small action game about a stressed out, overachiever bull named Axel," Insomniac explains. "He loves collecting beautiful things, but has to overcome his innate bull nature to accomplish his goals. Axel tries very hard to be graceful and cautious while he collects, but it's very stressful! What if he bumps into someone? What if his bull-like nature erupts and ruins everything he's trying to collect? What if he messes up?"

Insomniac will be live-streaming the development of the game every Friday. You can watch the streams starting next week on Insomniac's Twitch channel.

The rest of Insomniac is working on Sunset Overdrive for the Xbox One and a PlayStation 4 reimagining of the first Ratchet and Clank.

There's no word on release date yet, but Slow Down Bull is exclusive for the PC at this time. I'm interested to see what Insomniac can do with this project. What do you think of Insomniac's foray into small, indie games? Let us know in the comments!

All these thirsty, angry Sony fanboys here are hilarious.  Dont blame Insomniac blame Sony for douching it up and making them leave.

Insomniac once made series like RATCHET & CLANK and the brilliant RESISTANCE series.  Those were the days when they shared building/offices at Universal Interactive Studios with Naughty Dog.

Now Insomniac is based in Burbank and an XBOX first-party studio and makes...

... junk.

SUNSET OVERDRIVE?  SLOW DOWN BULL?

It's sad.

I guess this is one way to secure extra cash after the horrible Xbox One exclusive deal was made for sunset overdrive....EA is still feeling it after Titanfall became the most hyped let least talked about game a week after its release.

Another great studio better not become an embarrassing shell of what it once was like RARE.

Microsoft is where studios and franchises go to die.

@battlefront1943 So let me get this straight.  You like Ratchet & Clank but think Sunset Overdrive looks like junk when it has the same type of game play, same variety of crazy weapons, but with an updated engine?

And what does it matter if they were in the same building as Naughty Dog and moved to Burbank?

@battlefront1943 So the fact that they're not making games for Sony and are making games for Microsoft makes them suck? Gotcha. Remember, Sony screwed them over because they wouldn't let them keep the rights to the games they made.

@WingChopMasta What horrible Xbox One exclusive deal? I'm assuming you are referring to Sunset Overdrive, a game that isn't out yet? If you are from the future, I'll cut you in on some winning lottery tickets.

@WingChopMasta I bet if Sunset Overdrive was coming out on PS4, you'd be bumming the hell out of it. Insomniac Games would be the greatest developer to have ever existed and you'd be rubbing it in Xbox One's face. People like you are just embarassing.

@rasterror  Except that they're developing games for both Sony and Microsoft right now.
