Deus Ex: Human Revolution confirmed for Wii U

Director's Cut version includes Tong's Rescue mission and Missing Link DLC, as well as overhauled boss battles.

'

After an Amazon product page revealed its existence, Square Enix today officially announced Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut for Wii U. The new version includes the Tong's Rescue mission and the Missing Link downloadable content integrated into the story.

In addition, the Wii U version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution adds "overhauled" boss battles, "redefined" game balance and combat, "improved" artificial intelligence, and updated graphics.

Players can use the Wii U GamePad to access Adam Jensen's neural hub to hack into devices, edit maps, and throw back grenades, among other uses. It was not announced if Deus Ex: Human Revolution features off-screen play.

No mention was made of a release date or price, though the Amazon listing suggests the game will release May 7 for $50.

all i see for wii u news is either a game company's new game will not be coming to wii u or an old game that everybody already played and forgot about is coming to wii u.

All we want is a current gen Super Smash, Legend of Zelda and Mario Kart. By this I dont mean on the WiiU. Current gen means, cutting edge visuals, cutting edge online support, and game supported DLC for years too come. Why is Nintendo always a Gen behind?????? It pisses me off that I still buy it cause there the only good party games out there.

SE did hint at brining another one of their franchises to the Wii U. So happy it wasn't a FFXIII game.

I'm glad I didn't bother to pick it up on 360/PS3 right away. I'll pick this up when I can. Hopefully soon after its release.

The PS3 arguably got off to a worse start than the WiiU has.

You people have a really short memory span.

nintendo needs support from anyone, really. one company can not by itself sustain its own console and on top of that offer variety with titles nintendo develops.

Well, something to be happy about, Wii U customers. Wish Visceral re-imagined Dead Space 1 for Wii U, there's some potential with the peculiar joystick.

Finally, Nintendo is finally catching up to Xbox and PS were doing years ago. Truly we live in the future.

here's an idea, for $1 you can unlock skipping the boss fights if your build is a pacifist.

I find it funny how people want Nintendo's systems to be better and "catch up", but whenever Nintendo receives certain exclusives or features that are not found elsewhere, people rage at that. Irony.

So what exactly do you want?

I am buying a Wii U mostly for 1st Party games. I do not care if all 3rd party games reach it or not. If I want to play a certain game and it is on a different system, then I get it. It's not a big deal for me. Looking forward to more Wii U games.

Every week another new title skipping the WiiU.

Every third week another two year old title being rereleased for almost full price.

In terms of third party support there has never been a more laughable console. Companies are already avoiding it like the plague and the next gen systems haven't even dropped yet.

But Nintendo fan boys are still chugging the kool aid and defending this unmitigated disaster.

Good score for the Wii U.  If they fix the boss fights and do a better job of balancing the gameplay options. this could very well be the definitive version.  Not sure I'm personally interested, though -- don't own a Wii U and don't see myself getting one until more noteworthy software is released.

Doesn't the fact that old current gen games coming to a "next gen" console is considered news say it all about the Wii U...?

@unwell-7 I didn't forget about Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and I'm willing to play this version, but I know what you mean.

@Thegamer16  lol No shit! the ps3 launched  at about 600$ and 500$.

Nintendo has shown with the Wii that it's mainly a first-party games and casual gamers focused company.People didn't buy it to play multi-platform games on it.Instead of waiting to have a solid core first party titles line up ready ,they decided to launch without it.Most People interested in 3rd party games already played them else were and the casual gamers who makes up for most of Nintendo current audience don't have any major incentive to buy a 300$/350$ console compared to the very affordable Wii price. So no wonder the sales are going to be poor.

@nephili232 There are even Nintendo fans who dislike this announcement, wishing something more relevant to be ported.

@nephili232 oh come on...specifaclly made for gamepad...better graphics and 2 DLC packs incorportaed into the story! for 50$ is a great deal.

40$ would be an insult to the effort...but if you like you can wait a couple months and get it for 40.

@Bl4KD37H It came out in 2011. I'd consider Final Fantasy VII an old-ass game instead.

@Bl4KD37Hyea at least its getting games - MH3 Ultimate, Lego City undercover (exception), Spiderman, NFS:Most Wanted, now Deus Ex old but so what at least there's a release dates, rather than Iwata (Nintendo) here's games that are coming to WiiU..please be waiting.no release dates nothing..please wait ..its coming in future. :p

@IllegallyAwesum @frozenux Exactly, just wait until Zelda, Super Smash, Mario Kart, and others start coming out and watch the WiiU take off. This Deus Ex game already has me coming closer to buying it. Its one of those games ive always come really close to buying and the directors cut has me intrigued. Once some real first parties come out ill be buying it. If only they supported there hardware at launch :(

nephili232
nephili232

@96augment @nephili232 Delusional for even suggesting a rerelease is worth 50 dollars given that the exact same game is available for a fraction of that price on a number of better platforms.

Also delusional for using "specifaclly (sic) made for gamepad" as a positive. Deus Ex HR is an absolutely outstanding game, but I wouldn't play it again using that absurd tablet if you paid me 50 dollars.
