Deus Ex: Human Revolution Collector's Edition due for Asia

Release date of special version on August 26.

With the third Deus Ex game on the horizon, Square Enix recently announced that it will be releasing a collector's edition of the upcoming action game for Asian shores on August 26. This edition of the game will contain an Adam Jensen action figurine designed by hobby manufacturer Play Arts Kai, an Explosive Mission pack that contains a new mission with a special cameo appearance of JC Denton from the first Deus Ex, a DVD containing a "making of" feature and motion comic, and a 40-page art book.

Gamers will also get in-game bonuses like 10,000 extra credits and weapons like the M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (humorously shortened to UR-DED), the Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher, the Automatic Unlocking Device, the Huntsman Silverback double-barrel shotgun, and the SERSR Longsword Whisperhead silenced sniper rifle. The price for the Collector's Edition has yet to be determined.

The Play Arts Kai Adam Jensen figure.

Also for sale on the same date is the game's Augmented Edition. For more information on the game itself, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

I really just want the game

The figure looks pretty cool, the DVD and that sound good too so I'll be getting it. Although I would never use the extra ingame stuff on my first playthru because that's not what the designers had in mind when they created the game but on a 2nd play I'd probably use them.

Just to clarify, for US buyers, pre-ordering from GameStop nets you the Explosive Mission Pack (Exclusive mission: Tong's Rescue, Multi-shot Grenade Launcher, Remote-Detonated Explosive Device, Automatic Unlocking Device). Pre-ordering from Amazon/Best Buy/Walmart gives you the Tactical Enhancement Pack (Double-barrel Shotgun, Silenced Sniper Rifle, 10,000 extra credits). The Augmented Edition comes with the artbook, DVD and animated graphic novel. Basically the Collector's Edition here comes with both pre-order bonuses, the Augmented Edition bonuses, and a figurine. Considering the pre-order bonuses currently do not apply in Asia regions (as far as I know, and its the case for Singapore), this is the only way to get those, unless the Augmented Edition comes with them too. Also, considering that some CE games aren't even released in Asia, this is great news for collectors. Unless this is ridiculously over-priced, I, for one, will be picking this edition up.

@Legolas_Katarn That's true. I didn't check the details about this special edition you are talking about (it's augumented edition right?). I never purchase special editions anyway, I just want the game, thank you Eidos and SE.

Doesnt interest me, though Im wierd about collectors editions. I loved the figurine in the Bioshock CE, love the bobblehead in the Fallout 3 CE, but after that, it gets really picky.

@Toplinkar That's true some of the little things are split up but if you preorder the special edition at Gamestop you will be getting the making of disk, the artbook, half of the guns, that extra mission with the Deus Ex character in it, the motion comic, and the LE game box for $70. A lot of people on sites I've seen act like they are getting some great special edition when all they really have is an action figure, another gun, and some money they don't need, and we don't even know what it will cost. We aren't missing out on much.

@Legolas_Katarn Are you sure? I think gamestop pre-orders only offer the explosive pack (extra mission, UR-DED, LineBacker G-87, Automatic Unlocking Device), and Amazon pre-orders offer the tactical pack (10,000 extra credits, Huntsman Silverback and SERSR). Check the game website.

That is a terrible edition. Just about everything in that, with the exception of the figure, is included as a free Gamestop preorder bonus or in our $70 special edition.
