Deus Ex done

Square Enix and Eidos Montreal confirm Human Revolution has gone gold in advance of release next month on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The Human Revolution will soon be televised. Square Enix today announced that Eidos Montreal's Deus Ex: Human Revolution for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC has completed development and will be ready for its previously announced August 23 North American and August 26 European retail debuts.

Adam Jensen is a master of hickey stealth.

Deus Ex will be available in two versions: The regular $60 edition and a $70 Augmented Edition. The latter will include premium packaging for the game, a 40-page art book, a DVD with behind-the-scenes features, and a motion graphic novel included on a bonus disc. Players who preorder the game will get a new mission--complete with a cameo from original Deus Ex protagonist JC Denton--as well as in-game assists in the form of a grenade launcher, explosives, and an automatic lock pick.

Eidos Montreal has said it wants to stay true to the spirit of the original Deus Ex, allowing players to choose their own approach to each level. Depending on the augmentations players choose, they can go through each part of the game with a focus on combat, stealth, hacking, or even social interactions. @protokyoto I played Invisible War through 4 times. It wasn't even close to being as good as DX1. I got more details on the cameo too, seems it's Tong so the story should remain intact.

Hmm the thing that I hated about DE 2 and why it hold's a special spot of "it sucked" blackness in my mind was the fact the missions for both factions were the exact same with the only difference being at the end when you either did one thing or the other... plus it all made not one lick of difference to the game you eventually ended up at the same end point and could go for either side's ending no matter who you had worked for throughout the game That wasn't Deus Ex style open ended gameplay that was just chump ass shortcut we gotta get this game done.

wait, romero worked on first deus ex, right ? legend

@protokyoto I don't believe the problem with Invisible War was the fact that it was a terrible game... in fact, when compared on its own merits, it's pretty decent. The problem is the fact that Invisible War was the sequel of one of the greatest PC games ever made (in my humble opinion) and would thus have to be compared to its predecessor. Invisible War could not possibly hold up very well in that comparison; despite being a good game, it was inferior to the original Deus Ex in every way. Anyway, back on topic. I'm glad this game is finally ready to be released... I just don't know how I'll be able to wait another two weeks for the midnight release. My patience is starting to wear thin...

@G1Ga-B1T3: A cameo appearance doesn't necessarily mean he will talk to Adam. Adam could just see JC in a test tube. Sort of like that one mission in (was it Invisible War?) where you saw all the Denton's in all those test tubes in that one facility. To the people who are hating on Invisible War..did you guys even play it all the way through? I mean really, sure it wasn't as amazing as the original but it still had a decent story and solid combat controls. I loved both games and I am certain I am going to love this prequel as well.

Sigh can't wait for this to come out it looks like a great game with alot of polish and hard work + love was put into this game... the first one was beyond epic in its scope of how it did a FPS/RPG. Of course you play it now it looks like ass with everyone made out of blocks that have straight cuts in them still amazing game.... well designed with a solid story that adapted to your choices... and this was back in the day . I don't want to get too hopeful but this looks like this could erase the stain in my memory that was DE 2.

@syafiqjabar Where in my comment did I state that I thought this game was about Denton? I know the Deus Ex story inside out and I know AJ is the main character. The beef I have is this can potentially conflict with the DX 1 story. They say JC makes a cameo appearance, which to me indicates he will interact some way with Adam. The technology has not yet been developed that will lead to the tube incubation of JC Denton so it would not be possible to have JC make a cameo appearance, if they stay true to the story. Besides, Paul was developed before JC, so it would be more feasible to the STORY to have Paul make a cameo, as we did not get Paul's full back ground as we did JC's in the first game. I rest my case.

@syafiqjabar Alright, then i might buy, if it's Eidos behind the scenes i'm sure the game'll be good. That's all i wanted to know. But Square touch will be present, at the price tag...

syafiqjabar

@G1Ga-B1T3 Do you actually think this game is about JC Denton? It isn't. It's a prequel about Adam Jensen, and if JC is in this game he's a fetus that is still in development by his creators (who probably just began designing nanotechnology).

@Raxyman Square Enix isn't developing this game, unless you count giving money as developing, or that prerendered cutscenes is 90% of the game.

@Delston You don't understand, i'm in doubt. I liked the priginal Deus Ex, a true masterpiece. But square have already failed lots of fans. The Chronno Trigger remake, the FF7 remake, the dissapointing FF13. Square isn't what it once was. That's what i said.

I'm going to be hugely p!ssed if they delay the PC version, because that's the version I'm getting. More often than not companies like to "delay" a PC release so the console version will sell more. That's a completely cr@p business tactic and I refuse to buy the games of a company who do that on purpose. Lets cross our fingers that All 3 version of Deus Ex come out on the same day, especially since this is a series who's roots are in the PC.

How in the hell is JC going to be in the game when the technology that created him does not even exist??? So much for not ruining the story line. Jeebus Age CHRISHP!!!! Thank you Square Enix!

@Maleek2k8 That's the truth right there, and that's also the same score the original Deus Ex got.

ahhh yeaaa time to enter yet another amazing high tech conspiracy thriller sci-fi chapter in the already monumental series known as Dues Ex! Heheh what makes it even better is not only the content in this one but that his name is also my own; Adam.

@thugdraft Yes, opinions are subjective. However, 1. that contradicts you being appalled by me comparing the two games, since if all opinions are subjective all are valid and 2. games can be of high or low quality objectively. Saying everything is subjective is a slap in the face to genuinely good games and developers. Generally the "opinions are subjective" argument is the last resort of a fanboy who has no objective defense of the poor quality of his favored product. That said, I'm not saying Deus Ex will be a repeat of DNF or that it looks like it'll be bad. I'm just worried the nostalgia filter is going to strike again, and people will be too psyched about a new Deus Ex game to look at it objectively. As I said, I hope this lives up to the hype.

Just a note for everyone preordering now. You know that Best Buy almost always has a gift card offer for preorders the week of release, right? Got a $20 with my Reach, and $15 with my LA Noire preorders. Both made the day before release.

A-level results on the 18th to determine whether I get into Uni or not, and then Deus Ex: HR on the 26th. Oh man this could be the perfect way to spoil myself if my results are good!

This has been the game I've been looking forward to the most this year. It was ME3 but since that got moved to 2012 Deus Ex took it's place. Everything I've seen/heard about this game sounds great I hope, no I pray this game doesn't disappoint. I haven't bought one game this year. There has been games I've been thinking about but none that have compelled me enough to go out and get them right away. Deus Ex should be the first as long as the reviews do alright.
