Deus Ex dev teasing 'The Fall'

Eidos Montreal tweets "Are you ready for The Fall?"; possibly related to new Deus Ex game.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Thief developer Eidos Montreal today teased a new project that appears to be related to something called The Fall.

"Are you ready for The Fall?" the developer tweeted today.

Nothing else was shared and the Eidos Montreal Twitter account has not tweeted since.

Publisher Square Enix registered a handful of Deus Ex: The Fall domain names in March, suggesting The Fall was the name of the next entry in the series.

If Square Enix is gearing up to make a product announcement, the company could do so next week during the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

...and it turns out, Thief's Garret is J.C. Denton's great, great, great, great grandfather! Thief/Deus Ex crossover time!

I hope they go back to the original storyline, picking up where Deus Ex 2 left off.  The advanced tech level had lots more possibilities.

I hope they just do a complete  reboot of the original Deus Ex storyline, that way they have a lot more wiggle room within this new game.

Something between Human Revolution and the first Deus Ex... and hope to see more Megan Reed (if you didn't finish HR, this is a huge spoiler, sorry)

Someone once told me on these forums the developers were making Thief 4, how'd they fit the time to make another full on Deus ex game as well? Deus Ex remains my favourite series but I'm afraid it may not be a totally new full game, or released anytime soon...

I so need more Deus Ex...

A next-gen Deus Ex is very much welcome. I know it's not all about visuals, but I would be very, or am very excited to see what a cyberpunk world they can create would look like. That thought alone excites me about the next game.

Pride before the fall, perhaps? As in an onslaught of amazing technology followed by a downfall of humanity?

Please release it for PS4/XBONE !!!! NOT the current gen. I have had ENOUGH. I loved Human Revolution, apart from the technical issues. Hope this follows suit.

Neat, Human Revolution was amazing, so itll be great to see another while at the same time fixing some of its tidbits.

Square Enix is also loving the Wii U, with their special version of Human Revolution for it, blabbing about new additions and stuff but otherwise its showing the new game can possible support Wii U as well

Ghosthunter54

IF they make a new one they REALLY need to fix the stuttering issue that Human Revolution had. No matter what your settings or your hardware, tons of people (including myself) had to play about 95% of the game through lag - lag on a single player game that occurs regardless of specs or video options... ridiculous. Needs to be fixed by the next game.

A few months ago I hard Deus Ex: The Fall was supposed to be a movie they were trying to get into production......

I hope Eidos and SE aren't that stupid to make a movie based on the franchise....and if The Fall really is a game then I hope they change the name....it's pretty lame...

Unfallen_Satan

The name is the last thing I should worry about for a game, but "The Fall" sounds so black-&-white and un-Deux Ex.

If "The Fall" is another entry in the DE series, I'm just saying "take my money now". Open up the gameplay a little more, give us a bigger more explorable world and give us some new kill moves and my money is ALL yours.

They also posted a message mentioning Ben Saxon, who is a protagonist in the Icarus Effect novel, so it's very likely this will take place before the events of HR

Although I feel Deus Ex: HR was too confined within the two cities they let us visit and they could've done a lot more with background story, side stories, etc... I still really enjoyed the game that we got in the long run. I don't know where they could really squeeze in another game since HR was a not-so-distant prequel to the original, but I wouldn't be against seeing a new game or even just a next-gen reboot of the original 2 games.

DE was astounding and DE:IW had a lot of great ideas even though the overall execution was less-than-stellar. To see both of them brought back with the visual and auditory advancements of modern game design while maintaining the original gameplay, I would be all over this. Hell, even if they just pulled a Halo: CEA and did a makeover on top of the original games, I would be all for it, though I feel Crystal Dynamics can definitely do the series justice as full-fledged reboots. Just gotta wait for them to finish Thief. I don't want them be distracted while they work on building the next entry in that masterpiece of a franchise.

Might be interested if it isn't just another 2 day console game.

Hopefully they are referring to the period where Bob Page consolidates power within the Illuminati and Majestic 12 and destabilizing world governments using the Grey Death. If you guys remember those secret government detention centers in HR, Page initiates RX84 after the events or HR.
