Deus Ex dev teasing 'The Fall'

Eidos Montreal tweets "Are you ready for The Fall?"; possibly related to new Deus Ex game.

by

Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Thief developer Eidos Montreal today teased a new project that appears to be related to something called The Fall.

"Are you ready for The Fall?" the developer tweeted today.

Nothing else was shared and the Eidos Montreal Twitter account has not tweeted since.

Publisher Square Enix registered a handful of Deus Ex: The Fall domain names in March, suggesting The Fall was the name of the next entry in the series.

If Square Enix is gearing up to make a product announcement, the company could do so next week during the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

...and it turns out, Thief's Garret is J.C. Denton's great, great, great, great grandfather! Thief/Deus Ex crossover time!

I hope they go back to the original storyline, picking up where Deus Ex 2 left off.  The advanced tech level had lots more possibilities.

I hope they just do a complete  reboot of the original Deus Ex storyline, that way they have a lot more wiggle room within this new game.

Something between Human Revolution and the first Deus Ex... and hope to see more Megan Reed (if you didn't finish HR, this is a huge spoiler, sorry)

Someone once told me on these forums the developers were making Thief 4, how'd they fit the time to make another full on Deus ex game as well? Deus Ex remains my favourite series but I'm afraid it may not be a totally new full game, or released anytime soon...

I so need more Deus Ex...

A next-gen Deus Ex is very much welcome. I know it's not all about visuals, but I would be very, or am very excited to see what a cyberpunk world they can create would look like. That thought alone excites me about the next game.

I tried so hard to not kill people but just couldn't do it. Never heard of this series before HR and ended up getting 1stA, and I've pre bought the wii u edition. Hope they make a new one.

Pride before the fall, perhaps? As in an onslaught of amazing technology followed by a downfall of humanity?

Yes please, Deus Ex: Human Revolution was my 2011 game of the year over the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and another Deus Ex game is a win in my book. BRING ON DEUS EX EIDOS!

Please release it for PS4/XBONE !!!! NOT the current gen. I have had ENOUGH. I loved Human Revolution, apart from the technical issues. Hope this follows suit.

Neat, Human Revolution was amazing, so itll be great to see another while at the same time fixing some of its tidbits.

Square Enix is also loving the Wii U, with their special version of Human Revolution for it, blabbing about new additions and stuff but otherwise its showing the new game can possible support Wii U as well

IF they make a new one they REALLY need to fix the stuttering issue that Human Revolution had. No matter what your settings or your hardware, tons of people (including myself) had to play about 95% of the game through lag - lag on a single player game that occurs regardless of specs or video options... ridiculous. Needs to be fixed by the next game.

A few months ago I hard Deus Ex: The Fall was supposed to be a movie they were trying to get into production......

I hope Eidos and SE aren't that stupid to make a movie based on the franchise....and if The Fall really is a game then I hope they change the name....it's pretty lame...

JoeGamer1234

@Mojira7 I mean... It's not like they don't have the financial backing to hire more talent to manage both titles. That aside it could be any number of things, but with it being so close to E3 it's hard to imagine that it isn't directly game related.

@da_chub 1stA? I'm assuming you're referring to the first one. Anyways, there's also Deus Ex: Invisible War, in case you didn't know, though I'm sure some will say that's not worth playing.

Sardinar
Sardinar

@Vambran Yeah, I will probably dismiss it as a milk attempt if it isn't. No reason not to go for next-gen if you wish the best for your franchise.

MuddVader

@smirvane They're both bad asses. I'd like for them to choose a canon (or combine a couple of them somehow) and wrap up Jensen's story so we know why he's not there in 2052.

Though, the Self Destruct ending may have been the canon ending since neither Sarif, Taggart or Darrow are in Deus Ex 1 either...

JoeGamer1234
JoeGamer1234

@MJ12-Conspiracy Why would it be stupid? It would reach a whole new audience, and if done right could potentially become a saga. Granted I would love to have a new game as well I wouldn't mind seeing a movie. As long as the movie has the same high production values as the games, or even better.

@NTM23 @da_chub Yeah I played it. back when I couldn't afford a PC to play it, I went and got an original Xbox just for Invisible Wars. It was not as memorable as the first one...but I still enjoyed it better than many other First person games I've played before and since. You can get it on steam i think.
