Bungie has applied a new 'hot-fix' update to Destiny that, among other changes, doubles the frequency of Public Events.

That means that, when players are traversing each planets' hub world, there is twice the chance that the game will offer a random task to complete, such as eliminating certain targets deployed nearby.

Such events occur in areas that are connected online, meaning that other random players can team up to complete the challenge.

Bungie, which detailed the update on its website, says the new patch will also resolve bootflow issues on Xbox One, offer enhanced network stability, and fixes certain issues that caused game crashes.

"As we support the world of Destiny beyond the launch, much of what we do behind the scenes will be dedicated to ensuring the services that support the game are stable," the studio said.

Bungie also invited people to register any issues they may have with the game on its dedicated Help Forum.

This hot-fix comes as part of Bungie's continual updates to its shared-world shooter. On Tuesday, the studio unlocked the game's first Raid, which it described as its hardest challenge ever. It was completed by one team within a day.
