If you want the "ultimate" Destiny experience, you'll need to play on PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4. That's the message Sony is trying to get across with a trailer released today that highlights the range of PlayStation-exclusive content for Bungie's upcoming shooter.
Destiny's PlayStation-exclusive content includes things like an entire multiplayer map (Exodus Blue), a Strike (Dust Palace), and various armor and weapons. You can see a complete breakdown of all the PlayStation-exclusive Destiny content on the PlayStation website.
Though Sony is calling the Destiny content "exclusive," that only really means "timed-exclusive," though the duration is indeed extensive. This content will be exclusive to PlayStation until at least fall 2015, at which point Xbox players will gain access to the items.
Despite Bungie's close alignment with PlayStation for Destiny, the developer has time and again assured fans that it loves all gamers equally. No Xbox-exclusive Destiny content has been announced to date, and with the game now finished, we don't expect that to change. However, players across all platforms can score some additional goodies for preordering the game.
Destiny launches September 9 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
