The latest patch for Destiny has been released, and it deals primarily with resolving nagging stability issues and ensuring you face the Vault of Glass raid's boss in the way Bungie intended.

This new patch--the very pleasing-to-type v1.0.2.3--clears up a variety of issues that may have prevented you from playing the game. These include problems relating to the Zebra error code (which was being displayed even for issues not related to it) and those where some players were getting repeatedly kicked back to the login screen. You can get a rundown on all of the issues addressed by this patch in the list below.

As for the Vault of Glass raid, two aspects of it have been addressed in an attempt to--as promised--make sure it "provides an endgame challenge that meets project goals for the intended level of difficulty." One aspect of this is fixing a problem where Atheon would not pick a random target to teleport. The other deals with an exploit players had discovered allowing them to force Atheon off of the platform he's on. If players' persistence in discovering new loot caves is any indication, though, it's only a matter of time before some other exploit is discovered that makes the encounter easier.

Today's patch is not related to issues PS4 players were encountering earlier today that prevented them from signing in. Bungie says those issues have since been resolved.

The full list of 1.0.2.3 patch notes follows below:

General

  • Fixed an issue in which multiple errors reported with Zebra error codes
  • Errors previously reporting as Zebra will now display as their own separate codes
  • Fixed a rare issue related to being Kicked To Login repeatedly
  • Fixed a rare issue that resulted in a Kick To Orbit reported with the Cockatoo error code

Servers

  • Fixed an issue where some players would occasionally be erroneously kicked at the beginning of an activity due to a server error
  • Increased protection against account corruption

Raid

  • Fixed an issue where Atheon was not choosing random targets for teleport through the timestream during the final encounter on the Vault of Glass
  • Fixed an exploit where Atheon could be forced off his platform
