All Destiny players are getting free loot to start the new year, Bungie has announced. Everyone will get an allotment of 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes of Light on January 7, the developer said in a year-end blog post today.

When the time comes, you'll find these gifts at the Postmaster in the Tower.

That's not the extent of Bungie's gift-giving, however. Everyone who plays Destiny between January 7 and January 10 will get an "exclusive" emblem that will be revealed later. All you have to do is simply log in, but make sure you take part in an activity, as that's how Bungie will track you.

These emblems will be handed out on January 12. We'll have more details on the emblem later.

Bungie also today announced the winners of its Sparrow Racing League Film Festival. The grand prize video, which uses the Rihanna track "Shut Up and Drive," can be seen below. Its creator gets a special-edition Destiny PlayStation 4 system and a assortment of digital items.

Head to Bungie's website to see the rest of the winners and honorable mentions.

In other Destiny news, if you haven't tried the game's Sparrow Racing League mode, now is your last chance; it goes away on December 29.
